March Madness is upon us, and if you’re anything like the rest of the US workforce, you probably didn’t do much “actual” work today and instead streamed the games to make sure your bracket was still better than Jan’s from Accounting. During your period of non-work, you may have stumbled upon this bracket over at ESPN. Notice anything peculiar?

That’s right, our friends over at the Worldwide Leader in Sports have already declared Cathy’s Crusaders – coming out of the Midwest bracket – the winner of this entire tournament. The first round thrashing of the lowly, 16th seeded, Lymphoma Losers wasn’t pretty. When reached for comment, an executive with ESPN told me that after the results of Cathy’s most recent appointment were publicized, they felt comfortable declaring her the preemptive, overall winner as it was, “Over before it even started. Pardon the terrible pun, but it was a blood bath.”
While you all were watching basketball all day (slackers!!!!), Cathy had her two week checkup. Her numbers continue to rise at an unbelievable clip. She saw the doctor today for the first time since starting treatment two weeks ago, and he was literally blown away (okay not literally blown away, that would be ridiculous, and probably painful) by her numbers and how she looked and felt. While another round of scans will be done in the coming weeks, he did a physical check of what were previously swollen lymph nodes, and he could no longer feel them. Good signs all around! More to come soon, but for now, let’s get back to basketball…
Awesome news, Cathy!!!!!!!
